I built an app to solve something Apple still hasn't. There's no native way to organise screenshots when you take them.

Discussion

Hey everyone,

This has bugged me for years as both a user and a developer. You find something online, a recipe, a product, an outfit, whatever, and your only real option is to screenshot it. Apple gives you zero way to tag it, categorise it, or do anything useful with it at the point of capture. It just dumps into your camera roll alongside every other photo you've ever taken and that's it. Good luck finding it again.

Recipes, articles, gift ideas, things I want to buy later, random inspiration.

  1. Links get buried in browser bookmarks I never open again.
  2. Screenshots pile up in my camera roll with zero context.
  3. I end up spreading things across Notes, Reminders, Pinterest, read later apps, and still can never find what I saved.

So I spent the last few months building Stash Anything.

What is it? It's a single, clean app that lets you save and organise literally anything in one place WHEN you find it..

  • Links: Articles, recipes, products, videos. It pulls in the preview automatically.
  • Photos: Screenshots, inspiration, references. No more camera roll chaos.
  • Ideas & Notes: Quick thoughts, gift lists, things to remember.

You organise everything into custom collections however your brain works. And when you need to find something, search actually works.

The best part?

  • No Account sign up.
  • 100% Free to use. Then pro tier if you like it and use it a lot. ($9.99 life-time right now).
  • Works Across Apple Ecosystem (save on iPhone, get it on iPad + Mac) Mac is being patched right now. It will work on the next update.
  • No Ads (Not a single one)
  • Privacy Focused (No tracking, your data stays on your device)
  • Works with the share sheet (Save from any app in two taps)

I went full SwiftUI and SwiftData which was a deliberate choice because I wanted it to feel properly native and I wanted iCloud sync without forcing users to create an account. Your data stays on your device, synced through CloudKit, no server, no sign up. Getting SwiftData and CloudKit to cooperate reliably was probably the biggest challenge of the whole project. Migration and sync edge cases kept me busy for weeks.

Really happy to talk through any of the SwiftUI or SwiftData decisions, the share sheet implementation, or anything about shipping solo. And if you have feedback on the app itself I'm all ears because I'm actively developing it every day.
