Hey, so I finally got some time off work to record this project that's been in development for literal years at this point. The pitch is, I've composed an instrumental progressive metal album using the narrative of Baldur's Gate 2 Shadows of Amn to inform the direction of the music; as best I can anyway. Think Between the Buried and Me, early Dream Theater, Animals as Leaders, Plini, etc and then temper your expectations because I'm one dude making this around my full time not-music job and it's my first album.

Had to use footage from EE because I could not get the OG BG2 to screen record properly. I finished this, and if it gets any sort of look in I'll follow it with "An outrageous sum" but that one will take longer because the song follows all the major quests available to the player in Chapter 2 and is therefore 23 minutes long lol. That's a lot of clip editing.

I played a blade because I'm sort of a real life bard. It's been a while since I played the game though so you might catch me doing something silly like trying to magic missile the cambion after the game told me the first one was resisted. I have finished the playthrough with ascension on core rules, and it was a blast to play through my favourite game one more time. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the music and the montage of game footage; I wanted this to act as an easy to produce music video whilst hopefully encouraging people who are maybe put off by the game's rather inscrutable systems, to give it a go. Mostly I wanted to make a worthy homage to this wonderful piece of ageing art. Peace.

You should survive the process (music video)
