My story.
I’ve had T1D since I was 15. I’m 11+ years in now (pens + freestyle libre CGM).
The last year, when I started building my own business, my control got worse. Not because I didn’t care but I just don’t have the mental space anymore.
I don't know if it is just me but I always "counted" carbs somewhere in the background of my mind. I’d take screenshots of my CGM graphs thinking “I’ll review this later”… never did.
If I couldn’t do it properly, I just didn’t do it at all.
And all of that lead to glycemic roller coasters.
At some point I realized the problem wasn’t me. I can not blame myself not having all the variables on my mind simuntaneosly with business and personal matters.
I just miss the tools!!
Everything is outdated and heavy to use.
- exhausting food logging (hello 21st century. I won't be slave to the diabetes. I've never been.)
- guessing carbs
- random notes you never look at again
- apps that feel like extra work instead of help
It’s 2026. Why is this still so hard?
So I started building tool for myself.
Not another “diabetes app”… but more like a system that runs in the background and actually understands what’s going on.
The idea was simple:
- I take a photo of my food
- the app figures out carbs, glycemic impact, insulin estimation.
- it connects that with my glucose data from CGM, insulin (precisely my type), movement, sleep, etc.
- and gives me feedback on what I’m doing wrong (without overwhelming me)
No 13 minutes of manual logging to have "somehow simillar" food logged. No 3 different apps for 1 freaking simple thing.
I’m not some hardcore “perfect control” guy.
I live normally. I dont eat nonsense food such as processed sweet pastry. But burgers, pizza, normal food.. Whatever. I'm not going to stop enjoying life just because I want to keep my sugar levels absolutely perfect.
I just don’t want to play roulette with insulin anymore..
I needed something that:
- doesn’t interrupt my day
- doesn’t feel like a second job
- actually helps me improve without thinking about it all the time
So I built it. It’s called Glyki.
And honestly, it’s the first time I’ve used dia app that actually not just makes me feel like I like it to use it, but it literally helped me so much.
In just few days I've been able to naturally and without overthinking improve my compensation. Here are my actual numbers before vs after 21 days of using it:
Before:
- Time in Range: 54%
- Avg glucose: 10 mmol/L
- GMI: 7.6%
- Very high range (+13,9 mmol/l): 11%.. :(
After:
- Time in Range: 80% (+26%)
- Avg glucose: 8.1 mmol/L
- GMI: 6.8%
- Very high range: 2%.. :)
For me this is a massive shift without obsessing over every detail. And this makes big difference in impact on longevity as well.
As I said, I won't be perfect, but these results make me extremely happy. And more I use glyki the better I feel. For last 30 days my TIR is 84% and 7.7 mmol/l average glucose. I do not want nothingn more, I just want to keep it that way.
I’m very curious what do you all think. I would very appreciate your feedback 🙏. I set free trial for 3 days, but I can give you code for month free if you want to try it yourself on longer run.
