What moment made you realize your parent would never choose you?

Vent

I was 12 when I let my dad go. He’s a nonfunctional alcoholic. He started drinking a few days prior and ran out of booze. I tried to physically keep him in the apartment with my goalie stick. He drunkenly pushed past me without a second thought.

After he left I ran away to a hallway in the complex by some storage rooms that was never used and I cried for the last time in the next 25 years. And I literally cried that “I want my daddy.”

A few months later I gave up the next time or following time he relapsed and called CPS myself and told them I wanted to move in with my mom.
