AITAH for going off on my boyfriends “ex” after she sent a picture of them together

So for some context, I F(disclosed) have been dating my current boyfriend for almost a year now, and this instance happened a while back, but it’s still shaking me up today. This girl, we’re gonna call her Pam, used to be in a “taking stage” with my boyfriend, their whole relationship was weird, and I’m not going to go into the details on that, but anyways, one day she texts him out of the blue, and that made me very uncomfortable, considering how sexual their relationship was.

However, she seemed really down and not in a good place, so I stepped in and offered to be her friend, even if it made me uncomfortable. So we were talking for a few days, not too much, just her venting every now and then, which was totally fine.

Then, one day, she sends me a picture of her with my boyfriend. It was random and shocked me completely, and I’ll be honest made me somewhat jealous. And I know I shouldn’t have been, but that really hurt, seeing him so close with another woman. The picture was nothing sexual, just a piggy back ride, but still.

I responded with a picture of us, to which she starts to insult my boyfriend, (the most handsome person I’ve genuinely met), which really pissed me off. So, not only was I hurt, but now I was just getting flat out upset. Insults go flying back and forth in the form of long paragraphs, until she starts to lie about me and my bf. She says that she knows I’m not a virgin bc of him, and everyone knows we’re freaky. Which 1) isn’t even true. So while, I did lie about being Christian js to get her off my back, the sentiment still stands. And 2) we go to different schools and have such different friend groups that they’ve never met eachother, so I have no idea who the “everyone” she’s referring to is.

It’s not letting me post screenshots, but let me just say, I said nasty things, and she did as well. I will say I began the insults, but I was also the one who blocked her bc I was so fed up. But tell me, AITAH???
