Illness frequency?

Genuine question since this is our first adventure into having private childcare. What is the frequency in which your children are getting sick? I completely understand kids are little Petri dishes and sicknesses are without a doubt part of the journey, but I just thought it would be less with a nanny and wondering if this could be a handwashing issue. Thanks!
