Why aren't they selling?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I genuinely cannot see why they aren't selling. I barely know anything about game developing and ownership, so correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't that profit both the community and the devs more than shutting it down?

I think selling wouldn't be so hard, because the game is successful and pretty popular? Or would it be hard because the buyers would fall into the same problem as the current owners of the game?

I really love Rec Room and I love the community, it lets me interact with others without being afraid of judgement. I don't want it to die.
