Final thoughts on the S26 ultra
Here’s my final thoughts after 26 days with the Galaxy S26 Ultra!
The display is amazing. It’s large and the UHD display really shines when consuming content like YouTube, HBO, Netflix!
Gemini lives right on the OS and is aware of context on the screen. Makes it easy to search for stuff.
Photo editing is superior! Especially useful to remove random people or elements on photos for that picture perfect moment.
The phone is very powerful, with a lot of settings you can customize for the power user; but I’m really stumbled every day with settings. It took me days to figure out why message previews on telegram were hidden. Doesn’t help after changing under settings > notifications. Couldn’t find anything in advanced notifications. And finally after days, I realized it only works when you update notification settings on the app itself. 🥹
Went on a trip to Yunnan and did some treks/walks in the mountains and the photos were stunning. Videos, landscape, portrait all came out *chef’s kiss*
I really committed to using the Galaxy as my primary device, purchased Google cloud storage and transferred 1.2TB of photos and videos over (with lots of hiccups along the way…). Can’t say I didn’t fall in love but I really found myself missing a much simpler and consistent UI.
Sadly I’m not keeping the Samsung and am retreating back to the dark side.
