By chance, I found a shoe that isn’t a boxing shoe but works exceptionally well as one.

I have worn many different types of shoes for boxing over the years. Tennis shoes, running shoes, casual sneakers, barefoot shoes, and even no shoes at all. None of them truly matched the performance of a proper boxing shoe. However, by accident, I discovered something unexpected. A shoe that is not designed for boxing, yet outperformed every shoe I had tried which wasn't a boxing shoe.

The shoe I am talking about is the Skechers Track.

One day, I had to go to the gym but did not have any clean shoes. Since wearing indoor shoes was mandatory, I decided to use a pair of Skechers Track that I had not worn before. I had no idea how they would perform.

I started with some bag work, and to my surprise, they worked extremely well. I was wearing the Extra Wide version, which allowed my toes to move freely, while the shoe still felt secure around my foot. I could perform all boxing movements comfortably and with control. The cushioning was just right, making them very comfortable for training. Also, they are very light, and they have the right amount of grip. I wore a size 9 where normally I wear a size 10, but as I wrote before, it was an Extra Wide version.

Now, whenever I want something quick and easy for boxing training, I often choose my Skechers Track instead of my boxing shoes, which take more effort to put on. I am even planning to order another pair specifically for boxing training.

I just wanted to share this for anyone looking for a casual shoe that works for boxing, simply because I like my Skechers Track so much and thought it would be fun to share.

I Found an amazing Boxing Shoe, but It Wasn’t One..
