round inside corner on stair stringers
Would it be beneficial (from a water shedding or wood structural perspective) to make the inside corners of my deck stair stringers with a rounded corner? Instead of using a circular saw and a hand saw to make the 90 degree inside corners (where the tread and the riser would meet), I am considering using a 1" forstner bit to make the 'corners' and then the circular saw to make the straight cuts. It would be a 6 13/16" rise with a 10 1/4" run (nose is additional) so I have the 1/2" space with the deck boards I am using so I wouldn't have to rip anything to width (and expose that untreated edge). I am also going to be using joist tape - so applying that to a curve could be easier than the inside square corner. See very basic drawing (the red lines would be the curved 'corners'.
