Tips on dealing with/avoiding insects, animals, in the city
Hi everyone! I will be living in Sydney for a year. I love animals, for example I am not afraid of rodents or reptiles at all (spiders and insects could be a different case, though). Although I would never pick up a snake by myself haha.
So, I wanted to know any rules of thumb about how to deal with your beautiful natural fauna in the city, especially when encountering one in your household. May be some general advice, or anything you think useful.
I am looking for things like (I'm inventing these): "in Australia everyone knows you shouldn't sleep with your window open", or "always check your toilet before sitting", and similar.
Also, what should one do if such an encounter in your house ocurs. I understand there are some rescue services probably for wild animals like possums or birds. How about for spiders? Is one expected to deal with them by oneself? does it depend on the animal or the specific species?
Anyway, I just want to be safe but mostly I want to respect your fauna and culture, and keep your beautiful critters safe too.
Anything will be helpful! I hope this will also be helpful for others. Thank youuu
