Do any of you trade momentum stocks as soon as news comes out in the premarket?
I've developed a strategy over the past few months where I trade low priced stocks that bring out news during premarket hours. I have a news scanner that shows me immediately when a news article or press release comes out. For example, CYCN last week. The way I use it is by mainly filtering my feed to just American stocks. After that, depending on the news, I wait 2-3 minutes to see if the stock is worthy, or I'll immediately get in. I also check other stats such as RV and prior news. Typically, but not always, the most trustworthy news comes out at 4 AM, 4:30 AM, 5 AM, or simply in premarket time ranges ending in 0s or 5s.
After that, I use my technical analysis and indicators. If you're in very early it's easier to do this than if you get in farther away from when the stock shoots up. However, once you're in a good stock for a while, you have to use good psychology and analysis to make high profits.
Does anyone else have a similar strategy? I'd like to meet people that have a similar way of trading.
