When to leave Hernand?

80 hours in I've just completed Ch5 which briefly takes you outside Hernand but brings you back by the end.

I've done most of the stuff in Hernand, when do I start exploring outside?

I've heard that it's best to wait till the main quest line takes you outside so as to trigger quests and such.
