The year on photo albums has changed
In 2025, I went on two individual London trips, and I ended up having my holiday photos printed inside actual, physical photo albums.
Each album was created & purchased individually (it was not a same-day, joint purchase of two albums). I remember putting the year 2025 on both album covers, to always remember that the trips took place in 2025. I distinctly remember writing the year 2025. I am a perfectionist with an anxiety disorder who always double, triple, quadruple checks things to make sure they are correct, and I know I checked the year on the albums multiple times too before finalizing the orders. I also know I definitely wrote 2025, because it was an incredibly difficult year in my life, and I was acutely aware at the time of creating the albums that the trips indeed took place in 2025.
The other day, I was decluttering the living room coffee table (magazines, random books and mail), and I picked up the two albums casually to look at the photos. After flipping the pages for a few minutes, I ended up looking at the covers. Lo and behold, the year on both album covers is now 2026. What the f***?! How?! Made me feel nauseous just looking at that. For the first moment or two, it messed me up so badly I started questioning my own sanity and had to look up what year it was right now just to make sure the current year didn't somehow change too (thankfully that didn't happen). I have no idea how this could have happened. No explanation. So here I am. I tried to go through my camera roll to see if I could find photo evidence of the albums saying 2025 originally, but of course I hadn't taken any pictures.
