I would LOVE to see PondPhuwin with a bit of dynamic switch in their next series!

General discussion 🗣️

Guys, I was just thinking after their Zach Sang interview about how diverse PPW’s catalogue already is and if they do undertake a melodrama or a thriller or a tragedy as their next series after Peach and Me, then I would love for the story to show different sides of Pond and Phuwin. By dynamic-switch, I don’t mean make Phuwin the pursuer and Pond the pursuant because I think NLMG already gave us a better answer: a balance between the roles. And Me and Thee is also very refreshing with how much internal strength both their characters display.

By dynamic switch, I mean in terms of how morally complex their characters are. I came across a tiktok chain of Phuwin’s character in Taste (I will get to watching this show at some point) and I was like, oooooh, I would love to watch a more aggressive and unpolished version of Phuwin as a grown-up. I had this extremely specific scenario of Phuwin being the son of a corrupt Thai politician who grew up abroad after his parent/s fled the country, only returning to Thailand in his twenties after he’d lost his parents. In this, I’d imagined Pond to be an up-and-coming TV journalist personality, who had his own skeletons to deal with. Point is, I want both Phuwin and Pond to have strong personalities, with perhaps animosity that stems from more grounded reasons than something like We Are in which their characters were younger. I want Phuwin to speak English in it because it’s hot xP and Pond to be more emotionally vulnerable/compromised but not in terms of him falling in love first, in terms of how he deals with his issues. I want to see verbal spars and clashing ideologies and neither side being right or wrong, but them finding a middle ground together. Those stories are my favourite to watch and I selfishly want PPW to work in many, many more iconic roles. Their filmography is pretty solid so far and their acting chops have developed immensely over the years.

And I also would love to see them work with a director who prefers a more natural style. Pond and Phuwin know how to work the camera and seeing a more naturalistic direction seems like a good next step to diversify their acting catalogue! I don’t mean this in a negative way but more dramatic filming styles with much slower beats can make body language feel stilted and choreographed sometimes. They’re both still pretty natural on camera but the right director (P’Aof 👀) can help them improve!

Is there anything you’d like to see from them next? Your selfish wishes? Super specific scenarios? Ultimately, PPW will decide their next project and I know they’ll choose a great script but this discussion is just for fun. Let me know! :))
