New Thinkpad?

I’ve had a ThinkPad T14s with an AMD processor for about five years (Gen 1, 1 TB, 32 GB, possibly capable of some gaming, but small size and low weight matter more to me). For quite a while now, the right touchpad button has no longer worked, and the left one only works after every fresh reboot. Also, the surface has become quite unattractive over time, even though I’ve only ever put it into a padded compartment. I haven’t used the device an unreasonable amount — sometimes not at all for months, but then again daily while traveling, for example as a travel diary or for Netflix.

I’m actually pretty disappointed with the T14s because I had wanted to use it for a very long time and thought Lenovo had a good reputation and that nothing like this would happen. Now I want to buy a new one. What would you recommend? I’m leaning a little toward an X1 Carbon with similar characteristics to my old one, but perhaps something more durable this time.
