Have any of you stayed friends with your former suitors?

My friend confessed last month through chat that he likes me and plans to court me but honestly, his actions says otherwise. Parang tropa pa din trato nya sa akin other than the ocassional good morning/night & kumain ka na chats. Basta, I had certain expectations but he under-delivered. Needless to say, I am disappointed with how he's presented himself so far (his way of courting is just not for me). I've observed him din the whole time and slowly took note of reasons why he could never be my BF. Anyway, that list is full na & I have all the information I need.

I'm planning to tell him to stop “courting” when we meet this month. The thing is, it's going to hurt like a bitch because I actually liked him first (he doesn't know this yet). I'm going to tell him na mas better off as friends nalang kami since ganon lang naman din treatment nya sakin. Possible kaya yun? Sayang din kasi friendship namin. But IDK if risky pa sya at this time, especially since may konting attraction/crush pa ako sakanya? Has anyone ever tried this? Thanks.
