Sourcing Lumber

Getting deeper into woodworking and building out a shop in a third bay. Been trying to source hardwood for some projects and it's been crazy seeing pricing in the Burlington area.

Any recommendations for sourcing rough cut lumber for maple, oak, cedar, etc? Heard from other posts in some channels that you can buy from some lumber yards a pallet's worth of random cuts of hardwood...trying to load up on some variety!
