Enhancv looks amazing… but is it actually helping you get hired?
I’ve been testing resume tools again and spent some time with Enhancv after seeing it recommended a lot.
Here’s my honest breakdown:
What Enhancv does really well:
- Probably the best-looking resumes out there (tons of modern templates + customization)
- Drag-and-drop editing + full control over layout (feels way less rigid than most builders)
- AI suggestions to improve bullet points and tailor content
- Good for telling a “career story” vs just listing experience
Where it starts to fall short (IMO):
- Still mainly a resume builder, not a full job search tool
- AI helps, but you still end up doing a lot of manual tailoring
- Some templates can be risky with ATS depending on formatting
- Workflow feels heavy if you're applying to a lot of jobs
This Reddit comment summed it up perfectly:
What newer AI tools are doing differently:
- Auto-tailoring resumes to each job description (fast)
- Managing applications + tracking everything
- Generating multiple versions instantly instead of editing manually
- Acting more like a job search system, not just a document builder
My takeaway:
Enhancv is 🔥 if you care about design and standing out visually.
But if you're applying to dozens of roles, it still feels like too much manual work.
Curious — are you prioritizing:
👉 a beautiful resume
👉 or speed + automation when applying?
