No Boot - Mobo yellow light flashes than stop, staying alight.
PC ran flawlessly for 14 months, whit some random “RAM” test sometimes on boot: mobo yellow light flashing for about 5 to 10 seconds then boot normally.
Yesterday mobo ran that random test, yellow light flashed for the usual 5 to 10 sec than stop. Yellow light stayed on, not flashing anymore. No boot.
Forced shutdown (press power button for 3+ sec), same yellow flashing, but this time it booted.
Then I updated the BIOS (Asrock 3.50 to 4.10), updated the AMD chipset, and ran a MEMTEST. Memtest past perfectly.
Note: bios always had all settings on default except for EXPO enable.
Issues continue when I try to boot up the PC after a shutdown. Have to try a few force shutdown and press power button back, about one time out of 3 it will boot, and the other time it’s that RAM test failing i.e. yellow light flashing than staying on, no boot.
Doesn’t seem to do replicate the issue when I simply restart.
RAM stick looks well seated, after all Memtest passed and the PC ran flawlessly for the last 14 months. Didn’t move it, didn’t install any new programs, nothing new really.
Current work around: I’m not shutting down the PC !
Any ideas ?
