Guys i need help on when to buy a PC

So my sessional exams are coming up and I really want a pc. I alr talked to my mom abt getting a pc after I get good grades in my CIEs and she said yes. but now im thinking I wanna ask for it a bit earlier like when my term ends and im bumped up to the next grade, and naturally I will ask for a cheaper build than what I wanted ( a ryzen 5600 with a rtx 3060) to something like ryzen 5 3600 and an rtx 2060. So what im asking is should I wait for CIEs or should I ask for it at the end of term
