my previous employer refunded my tax due, do i need to may?

i resigned from my previous employer last year, and i started my current job also last year. late last year, i got refunded my tax due from my previous employer. that, plus hindi pala ako dineduct-an ng current ko ng monthly tax (before anyone says anything foul, i didnt notice at all kasi i dont check my pay slip and i have a passive income na pumupunta rin sa bank acc ko). hr only noticed this and ang resolution nila is iddeduct nila sa natatanggap ko every month until ma-offset yung nadeduct sa akin. i thought this solution was clean and viable.

now, i was advised to file my own 1700 and submit my own 2316. do i have to pay ba yung tax due in one go if may internal agreement kami ng HR? trust me, i am once again confused. akala ko kasi settled na dahil sa solution na sinuggest nila. let me know your thoughts
