Please help if you can, I know it's long but this is... wild 💔😢
I WAS 😢a LPN student (single mom of 6, former foster youth, straight A's, scored 91 on RN HESI with one day of studying while sick with mono) who applied to the RN program. Background: I had a prior cheating accusation well before I was in the nursing program that was resolved, and I've grown as a student since then. It is also important to know the current director of nursing was present at the meeting because he was on the board that decides if someone actually cheated. Mind you, it was lockdown browser and I looked to the right. So they said I was cheating.
moving forward:
After I attended the RN info meeting, the occupational chair questioned me for 20 minutes about why I was there—not supportive, more like she didn't want me to go. She said the Director of Nursing told her I attended. Days later, while recovering from mono, I left clinical during permitted lunch break, became too exhausted to safely drive back, and emailed my instructor I couldn't return. I got a warning for 'clinical abandonment' even though I had no patient care that day and notified them.
When I told the DON it was punitive to deduct exam points while medically excused, he issued a second warning for 'incivility.' I was told I'd be dismissed if I didn't attend a meeting, but after I said I couldn't make it, police showed up at my door saying the school had 'deep concerns' and accused me of sending a threatening message—which I didn't do. No proof, just an accusation that traumatized my kids.
I filed a medical withdrawal—not just because of mono (which I was pushing through), but because the hostile environment made it psychologically impossible to return. The Title IX coordinator processed it without my signature. I haven't slept or eaten in days. I still want to be a nurse but I feel so much shame and anger. I was SO close to getting into the RN program and I genuinely believe that's why they did this. If I get dismissed, how will I apply anywhere else? What are my options here? I don't want to go back, and I obviously feel cheated and retaliated against. Looking at the facts, it certainly appears that way. I can't believe this😢
