Fiat check power steering message

when i turn on my car it beeps and says ‘check power steering see handbook’ and has the red steering wheel warning light on. it will beep maybe 1-3 times and say this each time i turn it on and set off, but as im driving the warning light goes off. steering feels fine and not heavy. does it just need resetting? thank you!
