This whole last minute points hunt is ridiculous

They need to review the rules for invites. An idea would be to lock tournament invitations based on VRS standings at least two weeks prior to the event. Allowing teams to register just 48 hours before the start undermines competitive integrity and creates unnecessary volatility like we've seen this week. It's not that I don't like it, what I don't like is how teams are abusing last minute invites just because they sucked for the past 3 months.

Late entry should only be permitted if an already-invited team withdraws, in which case the next eligible team in the rankings could take their place. While this approach could introduce risks of manipulation (like informal agreements or financial incentives influencing withdrawals) that concern should be addressed separately (I wanna say ESIC although I'm not sure if they're even functioning anymore).
