Not sure if I’ll find real love

I’m a 15-year-old guy, and I already understand that I haven’t even met half the people I will in my lifetime. Like a lot of teens—and even some adults—I worry about whether I’ll be able to find real love someday. Not right now, but maybe when I’m around 20 or so.

At the moment, I’ve chosen to focus on improving myself before getting into a relationship. Still, I see so many people getting into relationships or even marrying when they might not actually be right for each other. I know a strong relationship takes a lot—compatibility, communication, growth—and I want something real, something where both people can learn and build together.

But I can’t help worrying. What if I’m not good enough? What if she’s not the right person for me? I think about everything—whether our personalities would clash, whether we’d be physically attracted to each other, whether our sense of humor would match, and so on.

I know I’m probably overthinking things, especially at my age. But seeing people in their 30s who are single and unhappy or worried about never having a family makes me wonder if I could end up the same way. And that thought honestly scares me.

At the same time, I understand that a good relationship isn’t just something you find—it’s something you build. Lately, I’ve been getting more into romance movies and books because they help me imagine what a “perfect” relationship might look like. I don’t expect real life to play out exactly like that, but it’s still nice to put myself in the main character’s position and think about what that kind of connection could feel like.

Even though I’ll continue to work on myself, I want advice on how to look at this whole view and if it’s a valid worry.
