There is a myth that Black gay relationships are fleeting—ending once the initial vibe fades.

This is not proof that Black gay men are failing at love. Many of us were never taught the skills needed to sustain lasting relationships.

Attraction and sex may spark a connection, but they cannot maintain a relationship over the long term. A bond built entirely on sexual desire is weak and often ultimately collapses. 

To withstand the pressures of modern dating as Black gay men, we must look beyond chemistry and diversify the ways we connect.
