I feel like im mentally disabled

So after pretty much beating the game (only AT and savage leaft to beat) I decided to try a new weapon i have played bow the whole game, and in world it was dual blades. I wanted to try charge blade or longsword, but i can't get even one combo down on an enemy, with bow its was pretty straight forward you attack and perfect Dodge, but with other weapons i don't see much openings to atack. The longsword has I frames but on pc the inputs are really stupid or trying to sheathe the weapon leave you exposed for so long its not worth it while charge blade morphing takes way to long and the moment I do one atack the monster is attacking me again making me switch to shield again.Does playing to much bow made me unable to enjoy the game with other weapons?
