My old RTX 2060 just died after ~6 years, and I’m building a new setup mainly to play Squad and other CPU-heavy / poorly optimized games.

I’m trying to decide between:

• RTX 3060 12GB
• RTX 4060 8GB

Full planned setup (same for both options):

• CPU: i5-13400F
• RAM: 32GB DDR4
• Cooler: Deepcool AK400
• Motherboard: B660M
• PSU: 650W Corsair

Games I play:

• Squad (main game)
• Hell Let Loose
• Project Reality
• Cities Skylines 2
• Total War series (and future titles like Medieval III)
• Kingdom Come Deliverance II
• Resident Evil games
• I also do music (Reaper and Ableton Live)
• My brother plays Destiny 2

My main concern:

With my RTX 2060 (6GB VRAM), Squad would often stutter and drop FPS hard, especially in big maps.

I’m trying to avoid that.

My doubt:

• Is the RTX 4060 actually better for Squad, or does the 8GB VRAM cause issues?
• Does the RTX 3060 12GB feel more stable in large matches?
• Anyone here upgraded from a 2060 → 3060 or 4060? How was it?

What I care about:

• Stability (less stutter) > raw FPS
• Good performance in large-scale battles
• Longevity for future games
