Being queer was supposed to break societies boxes. Not create new ones.
Just felt like people needed reminding of this.
Recently I’ve seen a lot of posts about how “certain people can’t use this label” or “this label contradicts this one. This shouldn’t be allowed”
For example I’m a genderfluid lesboy (lesbian) and I keep seeing posts and being told that genderfluid people can’t identify as gay or lesbian or straight as it’s definition is gender based and so as an individual who’s gender is fluid and undefined we can’t identify with these labels.
This. Is. Wrong.
Ofc we can use these labels. Anyone can identify as whatever makes them feel most comfortable. It’s our identities. (Ofc I respect and realise there are many more aspects and identities than the ones I’ve mentioned and unfortunately I’ve seen a variety of hate on similar subjects)
So I’ll say it once more and I hope you’ll join me…
