actual experience!
I'm joking when I say i want to make you guys jealous. and please keep in mind I live in Brazil, so there's no going to have any topic about prices because i gave birth in a public hospital which means: Free healthcare.
food? 10/10
nurses care? 10/10 too.
My pregnancy had no complications other than vomiting like crazy in the first trimester and being very sleepy towards the end of the pregnancy. I had to be in therapy almost every day because some of my bipolar medication could pose risks to the baby so I had to stop having them until she was born (totally irrelevant here, but I see how it seems like a taboo the topic of mental health when you're a mom?)
My daughter was born on June 27th, but apparently on the 24th, at my cousin's party, I was already having contractions and dilating. At 3 AM I went to the hospital out of pure paranoia because I was bleeding (the pregnancy was already full term). And they immediately admitted me because, during the internal exam, I was already five centimeters dilated, and sending me home was like sending a ticking time bomb home. She was born at approximately 11:20 AM, her water broke at 11:17 AM, and she was already wanting to be born because her water broke and she was already crowning
I didn't feel anything, like I said in the other post, until the moment she was born... holy shit, it felt like someone was pulling my organs out from the inside and squeezing them angrily. I used to growl at my husband when he tried to tell me I was doing great (babe I'm so sorry 😭) and pretty sure he have a little fangs scar on his arm because he didn't want his hand broken if i squeezed it so he gave me his ARM so i could bite it when the contractions was going back.
I was hospitalized for five days because the doctor wanted to make sure I was okay and could go home. Oh my God... what we don't bleed during nine months, we bleed in one month...
Whenever I mention how quick and almost painless my birthing experience was, almost every woman I know who has children jokingly says they're envious of me. My former high school classmate spent almost a week going back and forth to the hospital because she wasn't dilating. I'm pretty sure I'm God's favorite because even having a baby wasn't that bad, sure i had my husband help and his mom with me, but this girl BARELY CRY?? never had allergies to any diaper, Diaper rash, could eat a rock if you let her and she only grumble if she's sleepy or hungry instead of yell or cry
