How to fix bad app translations and update copy instantly (without waiting for App Store reviews)
Hey everyone,
I’ve been trying to improve the activation rate for my medication app, DoseMed. Everyone says localization is the easiest way to reach a massive new audience, so I started translating my onboarding screens.
But I quickly realized a huge bottleneck. If I wanted to test a different call-to-action in Spanish, or if a user pointed out a weird translation that was causing drop-offs, fixing it meant pushing a new build and waiting days for Apple to review it.
Web guys can change a headline and test it instantly. We have to wait 48 hours just to fix a typo. It makes running copy experiments incredibly slow and frustrating.
I got so annoyed with this that I ended up building an over-the-air localization tool to bypass the review process entirely. It basically acts like RevenueCat, but for text. You just drop in the SDK, and you can update all your app's strings from a web dashboard instantly.
I just opened it up for free (it's called LangCat: https://langcat.dev).
I'm curious though, for those of you running heavy ASO and conversion rate optimization across multiple languages—how do you actually manage your in-app text experiments? Do you just batch them into major releases, or do you have custom remote config setups for your copy?
Let me know if a tool like this actually fits into your ASO workflow.
