Foreign Name Question

Hello. Im a 30 year old man, and to be honest my life isn't in a great place. Im in the midst of building a new life for myself, and I've been seriously considering more and more the idea of working towards moving to Japan.

My question is, I've been considering changing my name for a long time. I was thinking that as a part of my new life plan, maybe changing my name to something Japanese if it does turn out that I end up moving there. Is that kind of thing seen as weird or frowned upon in Japan, or how do you feel about that idea in general? Of course the nagging feeling of weeaboo cringe that emanates from naming myself in Japanese is there, but im looking for more thoughts on the matter.
