Xiaomi has expanded its lineup in India with the Redmi Note 15 SE (Special Edition), positioned as a direct response to rising component costs in 2026.

* **The Price Gap:** The SE starts at **₹19,999**, while the standard Redmi Note 15 has seen a hike to **₹24,999**.
* **The Shared Guts:** Both phones run the **Snapdragon 6 Gen 3** with HyperOS 2 and promise a massive 4 years of OS updates.
* **The SE Advantage:** Despite being cheaper, the SE packs a larger **5,800mAh battery** compared to the 5,520mAh on the standard model.
* **The Compromise:** To hit the sub-₹20k price, Xiaomi swapped the 108MP sensor for a **50MP main camera** and removed the ultra-wide lens.

Xiaomi is effectively splitting its audience. The "Standard" Note 15 is now a premium mid-ranger, while the SE is the new volume driver for the Indian middle class.

For the average user in Hyderabad or Bengaluru who prioritizes battery life and software longevity over high-megapixel marketing, the SE is the smarter purchase. It proves that in 2026, "Special Edition" often means "Optimized for the Indian Budget."
