I feel like we can all agree Official Xia (we don’t even know her first name) in game I was not a good yuri option. To me she felt predatory and was taking advantage of girls in a situation of vulnerability until one falls for her trap. If you choose her, you end up having a good life with her but if you don’t she makes your life in the temple harder. Like, talk about creepy and petty.

So in the Lunar New Year trailer we see a girl in bed with us. At first, I thought she was gonna be a yuri option but then I remembered she’s our older sister that appears in one of our character’s videos.

But this trailer also shows us very clearly having tension with Xu Hui and honestly talk about a REAL yuri option. We thought she was dead because of her love for the former Emperor but she actually found the strength to live and now she’s in love with us??? Talk about friends to lovers realness. Li Shimin did not deserve her anyways.

So my theory is that it’s gonna be one yuri option per route. If you choose the Empress Path (Li Zhi’s route) the yuri option will be Xu Hui. If you choose the New Path (Li Tai’s route) the yuri option will be (hopefully) Xi Xin. Cuz like Rui’er is our friend come on, so Xi Xin is the only one left. Because there’s no way they put that many women have a crush in Xi Xin in her character description for nothing, there’s no way they’re not going to use this, they know how popular Xi Xin is among the players. And it makes sense: Both Xu Hui and Li Zhi have this calming, gentle and kind nature while also being really smart; and Xi Xin and Li Tai are very intense, know how to fight, are very loyal and want to protect us and keep us safe no matter what. Ofc because of the chinese censorship these yuri endings will be very limitated. It will probably be executed in the same way as Official Xia: We’ll choose a positive option for them, it will imply we kissed and we’ll see a screen saying “you two lived happy ever after” lol. But still, I’ll take it. Just the fact it (probably) won’t be doomed yuri (like the doomed yaoi of Li Chengqian and Chen Xin and the doomed hetship of Gaoyang and Bianji) is a huge win for our clearly bisexual protagonist (like come on the first thought she had when she saw Consort Wei was “she’s so beautiful, I’d fall for her if I was a man too” like girl get uppppp). Sadly I think it’s unlikely they’ll give us a poly relationship option because I can take both Li Tai and Xi Xin and not in a fight, but I’ll still take what I can get
