Dating a widower

Dated a widower for 2 years. Just getting out of this relationship. My experience:

• he never spoke about her, her cancer diagnosis, how that impacted him, how long she had, how they managed this with her 5 children and his 1 son that all lived together. When I asked questions he would get mad and say a few words, limited details and say he's never soaking on this again.

• pictures. One over his bed. One of the two of them in the dining room. Three pictures in the living room of her. Pictures as his phone background. IG posts to her often expressing how low he was feeling or missing her but couldn't share this with me.

• monthly visits to her grave, sometimes hiding this from me.

• belief that she visited him and the kids one form of a lady bug. Saw lady bugs often.

• wore her favorite color often. Wore a necklace of her fingerprint that was made in the hospital before her death. They were together 7 years (l think? Again he didn't speak on it) and married on her death bed.

While I can understand grief- my issue was the picture over the bed, the necklace and most importantly- never speaking on her or on how this experience changed him.

Was I wrong to leave? Not allow him space to grow?

This doesn't include his general shadiness with other females on social media and at the gym - a whole different issue.
