ExcaliMath — open-source plugin that adds LaTeX equations, function graphs, and 80+ STEM shapes to Excalidraw

I built ExcaliMath, an open-source companion plugin for Excalidraw that adds math and STEM education features. It wraps u/excalidraw/excalidraw non-destructively — no fork.

What it does:

  • Equations — Visual toolbar to build LaTeX equations by clicking buttons (fractions, integrals, Greek letters, matrices). No LaTeX knowledge needed. Or type LaTeX directly. Live preview, click-to-edit.
  • Graphs — Plot functions like sin(x) or x² + 2x. Up to 5 functions per graph, configurable axes, CSV data import, 7 templates.
  • 80+ Shape Libraries — Geometry, Algebra, Statistics, Physics/Circuits (30 components including all logic gates), Biology, Chemistry. All shapes also submitted to libraries.excalidraw.com.
  • Desktop app — Native Windows/macOS/Linux via Electrobun, works fully offline.

Dark/light theme support, save/load fidelity, clean React API.
