Paying for school alone

Help

I am a recent transfer and support myself financially. My transition to this school has not been the best, my financial aid package still has not been processed despite me constantly asking the financial aid office about it (I completed my fafsa in November) and was told it should be finalized by May 1st. I was able to pay for this semester with my own savings from working as a server last year. To cut down on costs, I am commuting from my town via bus. Obviously this is not ideal, and I’m not able to work as many hours as I’d like at my job due to not having reliable transportation. I was told by financial aid office that I am not eligible for any aid due to my dad making more than enough despite him not financially supporting me. Right now, I don’t know how much federal loans I qualify for and private loans are off the table due to me not having a great credit score and my parents refusing to co-sign or take out loans. I feel like this entire situation has robbed me of my college experience and my introduction to UMD and has taken a great toll on my mental health. I am currently applying to scholarships but worry that they will not take into account my transfer gpa as my gpa at the university currently is a 0 due to transferring. I know I can’t be the only person that’s dealing with something like this and want to know if there’s any steps I can take or options for people in a similar boat?
