Was my behaviour that horrible?
Hi fellow redditors!
So I've been friends with this woman (38y) from work for two years now. Actually really close friends. A couple of months ago her husband told her that he’s fed up with her and that it’s over between them. So yeah she’s been going down hill mentally since then and I also have an issue at home with my family. She was always kind enough to listen to my emotional outbursts and all, but last week I was really moody from work and then again the problem at home, so yeah she’s noticed that something was off with me and instead of telling her what was up I pretty much told her to leave me alone… she took that one a bit too personal, I know it wasn’t nice of me and I even apologised for it a bit later but she didn’t seem to care. So the next morning I noticed that she removed me from social media. I approached her over this, but unfortunately it ended in an unnecessary drama between us. She started to accuse that I wanted more out of our friendship and other things which were just not true. I was always only a really good friend and I always tried to be there for her especially now after what she’s going through. I may have been annoying and a bit too much at times… I never ever wanted more, but yeah apparently to her I am like all the other men out there and stuff… This week we finally talked the issue out, but for now she won’t add me back on social media nor does she want to engage with me outside of work. She needs her space which I understand, but she didn’t tell me this until we talked it out. Was this really bad from me, to do all of this over one small thing? She is 38 years old and instead of telling me hey I need space and all she brushed me off and removed me from social media…
Do you guys think that I‘ll ever have the same friendship again as before once she finds her peace and space and will she ever add me back on social media?
I really liked her, but this really messed me up and I don’t know…. at work she talks to me pretty normal but that’s about it then. I highly doubt that things will get normal again…
