I realised my boyfriend is actually insane (in a good way)
Pata hai aaj kya hua?? but first a bit of background for context - My boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years.
In the first year, he was in Mumbai earning like 25K and I was in Delhi. He could NOT afford flights or fancy train tickets, but that didn’t stop him. This man would sit in those 15-hour overnight seating class trains (yes, SEATING 😭) just to come see me. And not even empty handed he’d still save enough to bring me chocolates and flowers. Like sir???
And he did this at least twice a month. FOR A YEAR. I used to melt every single time.
Then he moved to Sweden for his masters, worked really hard for a year, and now finally has a really good job.
So today I was ranting to him about how I have to go to Pune to vacate my flat because I switched to WFH. My hometown is like 1500 km away, I have too much stuff, and to make it worse I had a fight with my flatmate so I was planning to stay in a hotel and just grab my stuff, and leave without interacting with her.
This man hears all this and IMMEDIATELY goes “I’ll come. I’ll book tickets around your dates.”
From SWEDEN!!!???
Flights right now are stupid expensive, layovers in war zones, whole world is chaotic, and I’m like ??? absolutely not. And he just goes, “I can deal with anything, I just can’t leave you alone there.”
EXCUSE ME??? Who says that in real life???
I just sat there like… sir you need to relax. You are not in a movie.
I know I’ll convince him not to come (his mom will be recruited for this mission), but the fact that his first instinct was to drop lakhs and fly across continents just so I don’t struggle alone??? I don’t even know how to process that.
He’s genuinely being a dumb idiot about his own safety, but also… he’s my dumb idiot.
He’s the first guy I’ve ever been with and we’re planning to get married next year and honestly… yeah. I’m not letting this one go.
Anyway just wanted to share because my brain is still buffering.
How are men like this even real???
