3 months after launching my social network with Lovable
I’ve been building a social network called suaaave. Tomorrow, March 6, marks 3 months since launch.
The idea is to create a calmer space on the internet, focused on photography and everyday life. No short videos, no algorithm pushing content, and no pressure to perform. There’s no infinite feed, and you can only post one photo per day. It’s meant to feel more like a diary.
Over these months, the project has had its ups and downs. There were moments with more activity and others that felt pretty quiet. At one point, the site went offline for a few days after an attack, which broke the momentum quite a bit (you can see the drop in the graph).
Right now there are around 2.600 registered users, with roughly 1.800 active.
One thing that stood out to me is that when people actually use the product, they tend to stay longer. The challenge doesn’t seem to be capturing attention, but giving people a reason to come back the next day.
Recently, I started exploring communities inside the app, creating spaces where people can share things around specific themes. This has started to change the dynamic a bit, but it’s still too early to fully understand the impact.
I’m a designer, so the visual side has always been a big focus for me while building the product.
It’s still very early, and I’m trying to figure out what really works.
If anyone here has built something social or community-based, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
