My parents don't take me seriously until I outwardly get really bad
If I call my parents while having an anxiety attack or crying they immediately use their "poor baby sweetie" voices and try to actually help me, but if I call and just tell them I am having a bad day and feel numb (which is honestly worse most of the time than the crying) they don't really show any sympathy. I told them my therapist thought I might be depressed, and they told me all college students are like that, but when I called them crying about getting stuck in an OCD cycle a few weeks earlier they suggested I might be depressed. (??????????????????????)
I just feel like they don't take me seriously unless I'm performing mental illness. How can I get them to understand that just because I'm not showing it outwardly doesn't mean I'm not struggling just as much?
