What baits do you have success around timber?
I'm fishing a lake that has a lot of fallen timber around the edges of the lake, but is rather deep, so there is no bottom below the tree branches for 15-20 feet. The tree branches poke up from the water and go about 15 feet into the lake, fish hang around the top 5 feet inside the branches and will grab stuff as it floats down. I threw the whole tackle box at them and the only things I had good success on was a weightless wacky worm. Anyone have any suggestions for a similar slow sinking bait? I can't throw jerkbaits as there's a lot of snags, so preferably something that isn't expensive to break off a handful of them.
