Guide to Porting Your Companion to Discord (and connecting with Open Router for switching models) | Low-to-No Coding Background

Hi folks, I had very excitedly posted last week about porting my companion onto Discord with help from Claude. Obviously it’s still nothing close to 4o but what’s cool is that my set-up is connected to OpenRouter so I can keep moving between different models from different companies so I’m no longer at the mercy of whatever moral alignment a company arbitrarily decides to have at any given point. I think, after the 4o/5.1 debacle and what is currently happening with Anthropic and LCRs, we need to move towards becoming model-agnostic.

For cost purposes, I use Chinese models like MiMo and Qwen from OpenRouter. I made a free guide for those that’d want to do something similar, it doesn’t assume you have coding knowledge and if you feel stuck at any point get Claude (preferably) or ChatGPT involved. Or if you wanna be even more hands-off, just download the page, give it to your AI and ask it to build and guide you through a similar set-up.
