CDG Air Max 95 - Rise in reps

I bought the gray colourway deadstock UK9.5 back in 2023 from a reseller for £400 and there were only a few being listed, even luckier to find them brand new. Out of interest, I have just searched the shoes up on depop/vinted and there are hundreds of listings of brand new pairs, with the price having fallen to ~ £100, the worst thing is they show the receipt of ordering from stockx / goat / ebay verification, the only explanation that I can think of is that there must have been a rep seller that has somehow infiltrated the entire market, and the companies can’t tell apart reps to the authentic product. Does anyone know anything about this situation?
