This is not just a Mojang-complaining post, and is only directed at those who go out of their way to shut down discussion in the community. **Most people who defend Mojang are not "bootlickers", you know the type that I'm talking about.** Those people whom I am referring to frequently harbor traits such as a lack of independence and a willingness to make their own decisions. Instead, they have a greater reliance on groupthink and more powerful authorities. **I want to limit political discussion but these people frequently share authoritarian ideologies for the same reason: a lack of control in their own lives. Policing a fandom is their substitute.** *I think it is important to clarify that I don't mean socialism in general, but authoritarianism, be it left or right. This is Reddit, so you will see more authoritarian leftists.* I want to limit political discussion, but it is so central to their psyche it just cannot be left out.

Ultimately, rather than forming their own opinions based on evidence, they default to aligning with whatever the dominant voices or important sources decide. This absence of autonomy makes them adapt quickly to fandoms/franchises as not just"safe spaces", but places significant to their own self-worth. Thus, criticism of their favorite media becomes a threat to them.

Yes, it really is that deep.

Explaining the psychology behind "Bootlickers". Are they really that bad?
