How to set-up overworld frames when using macros.

I've seen many posts asking for help on how to set-up their macros so I thought I could assist why y'all wait for the macro guide someone else is doing.

I tried RNG Manip the good old fashioned way but I cannot do it perfectly so my partner got me an 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth and we learned how to use macros. He is using a Switch 2, Leaf Green and I am using a Switch 1, Fire Red.

I can't share the base for the macro setting because it's not mine. But I can share what I learned from it.

Biggest gamechanger for when I was setting up my macros lies on how I set up my overworld frames. Because the overworld frames changes the continuous advances which then changes my macros.

If you're wondering why you're sometimes OFF when you're hunting this could be your problem.

Example

This is a Bulbasaur at 600 overworld frames:

SeedAdvancesContinue Screen Frames
11C7  30473 ms (-114ms)1357

Same Bulbasaur at 454 overworld frames:

SeedAdvancesContinue Screen Frames
11C730473 ms (-114ms)1357

Notice the continue screen frames are different for the same shiny?  There's math behind this that was explained to me but I forgot but the main point is,  You need to set your macros up to equal the overworld frame.

So take that overworld frame you're working with and multiply that by 17. Eon timer has it calculated that 1 advance is 17 frames however you can also use 16.7. This is up to you.

Let's say 17. So 600 x 17 is 10,020 MS.  This is the amount of time you have until you press the final button that will trigger the shiny encounter.

This means that when you set your macro every press or hold needs to equal 10,020 MS. This will never change unless you change the overworld frame.

My macros are set up from the very beginning (The A, A, Home, A) so it's consistent.

Ideally the only thing you need to change in your macros will be two. One macro for the SEED and the other the Continue Screen Frames. Everything else is the same.

Depending on what you're hunting you might need to adjust the overworld frames. For Wild hunting my frames are 454 or 547 because there's a lot more button press needed to use Sweet Scent.

For Game Corner Abra it's just gonna be A after the recap so my overworld frames are shorter. Same with the birds.  but this is up to you. 10 lines has the overworld frame default to 600 when you open it.

This is my Articuno on a second calibration at 311 overworld frames.

Target

SeedAdvancesContinue Screen Frames
596930937ms (+0ms)2000
30937calibration in MS23071

1st attempt

SeedAdvancesContinue Screen Frames
302730871 ms (-66 ms)1654
31003calibration in MS28864

2nd attempt. Shiny

SeedAdvancesContinue Screen Frames
596930937ms (+0ms)2000

I got Zapdos last night it took about 8 calibrations. and THREE resets because the damn bird struggled TWICE!

Anyway I hope this helps.
