Kpop idols can be in the wrong

RANT

Feel free to disagree, but I don’t understand why Kpop idols are never perceived to have any involvement in their circumstances. If they go on hiatus or leave a group, the company is automatically screwing them over.

Companies are not perfect and I’m not denying mistreatment or inappropriate handlings of members as we’ve seen with previous court cases. However, idols are humans under a contract and I don’t understand why it’s inconceivable that they may play a part in their current situation.

I know we’re all sick of hearing about it, but my main example is Enhypen. With Heeseung’s solo path announcement, all I ever see is that the company forced him to choose group or solo, with the latter being a punishment. This is an alternative take, but maybe the abruptness/strangeness of his departure stems from a contractual violation and this is the artist/company’s way of preserving the group image. Or, more likely, he just chose to go solo as his career is more important than perceived loyalty the group.

This is purely speculation and not an assumption of the truth, I am only saying I never see the possibility that idols contributed to their circumstances, only that they are victims of the system (though that should be addressed if applicable).

TLDR: Idols may cause problems that result in consequences and fans should consider that possibility.
