Engagement ring stores with unique or non-traditional designs and stones?

Hi all. I would like to go engagement ring shopping in-person somewhere in San Diego, but I’m not looking for a traditional diamond ring or for something huge (I like more delicate jewelry). I’m looking for places that would have a lot of gemstones options like sapphire, alexandrite, etc. and maybe non-traditional or custom designs. I would like to try rings on in-person because I want to narrow down what cut, band size, metal type, etc, rather than getting a customer made one online. Does anyone have recommendations on a place where I can either walk-in and try on rings or make an appointment? Thank you!
