Chess Position Analyzer — Python + Selenium + Stockfish
Just open-sourced my first real project. It connects to live Chess.com games through Chrome's remote debugging protocol and evaluates positions in real-time using Stockfish.
How it works:
- Connects to Chrome via Selenium WebDriver
- Reads board state from the DOM using JavaScript injection
- Evaluates positions through Stockfish (UCI protocol via python-chess)
- Executes the best move using Selenium ActionChains
Built with: Python, Selenium, python-chess, Stockfish, PyAutoGUI
Started as a messy 700-line single file. Refactored into a clean modular architecture with separate components for browser connection, board reading, engine evaluation, and move execution. Added JSON config support and a CLI with argparse.
